Grain Millers, Inc. is a leading provider of whole grain ingredients used in cereals, breads, bars, snacks and many other food products throughout North America. Proudly we have had no layoffs in our 35+ year history. Currently we are looking for a Fiber Plant Operator to work 6pm-6am 4 days on 4 days off.

Position Summary

Responsible for all items related to the operation and maintenance of the fiber plant and packaging areas. Also responsible for advising maintenance and management of needed repairs as noted.

Essential Job Functions

• Identify different barrel types.
• Packaging both 50 lb. bags and 1500-2000 lb. tote bags.
• Jet Sieve Operation for sampling finished product.
• Learn how and when to check metal detectors and magnets throughout system.
• Learn where air filters are and when needed changed.
• Raw product transfer system/components.
• Learning the equipment used to product fibers.

Essential Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Flexible and willing to accept changes on short notice.
• Willing and able to learn new technology.
• Possess at least basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Ability to meet the Physical Demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements of the position include but are not limited to.

• Climbing stairs and ladders
• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, gripping, and standing for long periods of time.
• Good vision (20/12 corrected or better) to perform visual product inspections
• Good sense of hearing, smell, and taste.

Work Conditions

Work environment consists of working in dust.

Will be exposed to a variety of different temperatures both inside and outside of the plant. Work environment is not climate controlled.
