Maintenance Assitant

Position Summary

The primary function of the Maintenance Assistant is to perform those tasks assigned to the maintenance department that do not require the skills of a Millwright. Such jobs may include but, are not limited to those outlined in the Essential Job Functions listed below.

Regular job duties and responsibilities include:

• Label and store parts in their proper places
• Picking up and/or delivering parts when needed
• Label and store maintenance chemicals as needed
• Blow out forklifts
• Fill propane tanks as needed and put them away
• Paint areas as directed by your Supervisor
• Keep shop clean and uncluttered
• Keep parts storage areas including the OT building organized
• Assist Millwrights with tools and parts as needed
• Promote safety throughout the facility

Essential Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Oregon Driver's License
• Knowledge of safety and maintenance practices
• Excellent communication and team skills
• Some computer skills
• Self-motivated and ability prioritize work
• Strong organizational Skills
• Mechanical aptitude

Physical Demands

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to walk, kneel, squat, and crawl in tight spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to sit and complete computer tasks

  Work Conditions

  
  

• The work week consist of 8 hour days Monday - Friday with occasional overtime as needed on weekends and during the week. Will be working in the plant or in the maintenance shop.

  Secondary Job Functions

  
  

• Assist maintenance team in performing maintenance duties such as PM's, installation or removal of equipment, or general repairs.

  Operate a forklift to move parts, and unload parts from trailers.
